Hello and Welcome, all my stamping friends. Today, I’m sharing a card called Love Bug Driving By which features the Stampin’Up!® Driving By stamp set, Playful Alphabet Dies and Hippo & Friends Dies. I’ll be sharing a few cards the nest several days using sets from the Sale-a-bration catalog. These are all items that can be earned free with qualifying orders from any current catalogs and or paper pumpkin kits. These items are available 4 January-28 February 2022 or while supplies last.

Love Bug Driving By

When I saw this stamp set I knew what I was going to do with it. My cousin won a VW Love Bug a few years ago. I share the photo later in this post. Even though it’s a little different from the photo, I still had fun creating this card.

Start with a Real Red card base, cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″and score at 4 1/4″. For the pull tab, cut at 1 1/8″ x 5 1/4″. You will also need enough card base for the letters from the Playful Alphabet Dies and Hippo & Friends Dies.

Die cut from the Vellum Layering Designs and a piece using the Hippo & Friends Dies. Use Daffodil Delight cardstock to stamp the Love Bug car. Then Real Red ink pad and Watercolor pencils to color the tires and fussy cut the car. Take a Basic White second layer and cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″. Stamp your sentiment before adhering to the card base.

Take Simply Marbleous 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″. Stamp the swirls using the Calming Camellia stamp set. The hearts were stamped in Real Red from the Sweet Conversations stamp set. Cut out the area for the pull tab to fit and slide. Add lots & lots of Stampin Dimensionals to the back and leave enough space so that your pull/slider moves freely. Use a Stampin Dimensionals cat each end for a stopper at both ends. Layer the die cuts Real Red & Vellum together and add the car to the stick with a dimensional on the slider. Finally, add Playful Pets Ribbon.
