Simply Succulents / Potted Succulents Stampin’Up!®

Hello and Welcome! My name is JaNette Howard and I’m an Independent Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator in Burleson, Texas. For today’s card, Simply Succulents / Potted Succulents, I used a new technique with the Stampin Blends and alcohol on Vellum cardstock for a stained glass effect. I loved using the Simply Succulent stamp set and Potted Succulent Dies because of the new looks that i can achieve. It’s really quick and fun to learn and play. This background can be used for many different card styles. This card reminds me of a close friend who made beautiful stained glass artwork for fun.

Firstly, I started by scribbling on vellum with Stampin Blend in various colors. Secondly, I used a brush to dip in 91% alcohol, then tapped each color and set aside to dry. My card bases are cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. I chose Evening Evergreen cardstock for the first card and Pale Papaya cardstock for the second card. Next, I used the largest die and cut out one in Evening Evergreen cardstock and the other in Soft Succulent cardstock, which are both colors. I cut the vellum to 4 3/16″ x 5 7/16″, which is same size as the die cuts. Using adhesive sheets, I adhered the velum and die cuts to the front of the cards.

These cards were quick and fun to create. The possibilities are endless using this technique.
